Billy
the Bullet, current design.

Billy with Timex,
Funkster and very recent grad.

Billy took pictures with many random
grads, including Chris LaPilla.

All the ladies love Billy;
just ask his new friend Karen.

Indeed, before his friends from PFF stepped in, Billy's fate
looked rather dire. A drawing contest
was held to give Billy a makeover, but the results were disappointing.
There was even talk of doing away with him...forever.
This
controversy gave the intrepid members of Pan Fried Funk an idea:
bring Billy to the people, in the form of an appearance at Graduation.
Plans were made, a costume was repaired, and locations for Billy's
grand entrance were scouted.
Then,
of course, came the fateful day. After much anticipation,
and as the mortarboards flew into the air, Billy ran past The
Sentinel, Gettysburg College's more-revered phallic statuary
symbol, and made his way through the throng to the path where
the graduates were going to come out.
It
turned out that this was not the best of routes, as the spot
Billy came to occupy was in their way in an almost unauthorized
fashion, but Billy shrugged this off and retreated into the
crowd. There, he filled impromptu picture-taking requests
from numerous families, even the ones who at first mistook him
for a big, orange "Ghost of Gettysburg."
Even
more importantly, though, Billy was able to hobnob with respected
members of the College administration. Ranging from Safety
and Security officers to Computer Science professors to the
College President himself, Billy's bullety hand clasped many
an important palm.
Finally,
after making new friends, spreading his love, and doing a little
dance on the edge of the fountain, Billy decided it was time
to go home. Besides that, Whopper was getting hot inside
the costume anyway, and it was about time for lunch. With
that said, though, there's no telling when or where Billy may
appear again, but one can be sure that even if he doesn't his
legacy will live on... |
